SCIENTIFIC ANGLERS - SONAR STILLWATER HOVER

The Scientific Anglers Sonar Stillwater Hover Fly Line is an ultra-slow sinking stillwater line that holds flies just beneath the surface film. At around 0.5 ips it is almost neutrally buoyant, so a slow figure-of-eight keeps nymphs and buzzers hanging in the top of the water without dragging them down or letting them climb. It shines in calm or pressured conditions where a subtle, natural presentation matters.

Scientific Anglers Sonar Stillwater Hover Key Features

• Ultra-slow 0.5 ips sink rate keeps flies just below the surface film
• Overweighted by two line sizes for turning over long leaders and multiple flies
• 10-foot and 20-foot textured hang markers for precise depth counting and lift control
• Surf / Blue Spruce colour scheme

Best Used For

• Calm or pressured stillwater where a subtle, natural presentation matters
• Hanging nymphs and buzzers in the top of the water on a slow figure-of-eight
• Long leaders and multi-fly rigs fished just under the surface film

Technologies

• AST Plus – Advanced slickness additive that reduces friction, improves shootability and keeps the line performing longer.
• Welded Loops – Durable welded loops front and back for easy reliable loop-to-loop connections to backing and leaders.
• SA-ID – Printed line identification showing taper, weight and density for quick recognition.
• Sonar – Density-tuned sinking technology that delivers a smooth stable sink profile and consistent depth control through the retrieve.
• Audible Reference Point (ARP) – Textured band that produces a feelable, audible click through the guides, marking the ideal overhang point for loading the cast.
• Braided Multifilament Core – Supple cold-water core that improves flotation, reduces memory and provides smooth stable casting.

Temperature Rating

• Cold / Moderate – 0°C to 25°C
